We are investing in pharmacy care by building a new experience that will improve how our members receive vital prescription drugs. We're re-imagining relationships with manufacturers, pharmacists, and providers to simplify the system, making it easier for members to get their medications or prescriptions where they live and work. We're making it easier for doctors and members to see drug options and prices so they can make treatment decisions together. To transform pharmacy care, we will elevate the role of pharmacists as part of the care team to work directly with our members.

Meet Ann. She was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. It's been overwhelming for her as she tries to navigate her care needs. Luckily, Ann learns that her doctor is working with an advanced practice pharmacist. Ann meets with the pharmacist for a comprehensive medication management visit to ensure she's on the best combination of medications. She mentions the insulin that was prescribed to manage her diabetes. The pharmacist then reviews Ann's medical records as well as her entire medication regimen to check for any interactions. They then review her recent blood sugar levels to adjust her insulin dose. They walk her through how to test blood sugar, administer insulin, and recognize and treat symptoms of low blood sugar. Lastly, the pharmacist encourages Ann to reach out with any questions, sets up a follow-up visit with her, and updates Ann's doctor. Ann feels reassured knowing that she's not alone on this journey. She has a care team that is knowledgeable and cares about her wellbeing. She can easily access the care she needs so she can focus on what matters most to her.

This new pharmacy care model offers convenience, safety, and affordability to members. It empowers pharmacists to make a greater impact on health, and it challenges the industry to reimagine how we work together. We've already started implementing many of these pharmacy care solutions.
